The Nice Difference® Warranty
Every diesel repair we perform at Christian Brothers Automotive Westinghouse Road is covered by our Nice Difference® Warranty: 3 years or 36,000 miles, whichever comes first. That coverage travels with you and is honored at any Christian Brothers Automotive location nationwide. It’s our confidence in our work, made tangible.
Keeping Your Diesel Engine Healthy in Georgetown
Diesel engines are built to last, but they reward consistent maintenance and penalize neglect. Deferred oil changes lead to sludge buildup. Worn injectors reduce combustion efficiency. A clogged diesel particulate filter can trigger a cascade of engine management problems. Georgetown’s mix of highway commutes and work-truck duty cycles puts real demands on fuel and exhaust systems, and those demands accelerate wear when maintenance slips.
Warning signs worth acting on quickly include excessive exhaust smoke (black, blue, or white), difficulty starting in any weather, a noticeable loss of power under load, and a sudden drop in fuel economy. Each of those symptoms points to a specific system that benefits from early diagnosis. Catching low compression, filter blockage, or EGR valve issues before they compound can be the lower-cost path.
What to Expect From a Diesel Service Visit
When you bring your diesel vehicle to Christian Brothers Automotive Westinghouse Road, the process starts with our complimentary Digital Vehicle Inspection (DVI). Technicians document their findings with photos and video and send that report directly to your phone. You review it, ask questions, and approve or decline any recommended work before we touch anything. That process applies to every visit, routine or complex.
Diesel oil change intervals vary by manufacturer recommendation, duty cycle, and how the vehicle is used. Higher soot production in diesel combustion means oil degrades differently than in a gasoline engine, and following the right interval for your specific vehicle matters. Fuel filter replacement is another maintenance item that’s easy to overlook but critical: a restricted filter starves the injection system and adds stress to the fuel pump. Our service advisors can walk you through your vehicle’s maintenance schedule and flag what’s coming up based on your current mileage.
