How Brake Service Works at Our Clarksville Shop
We’ve built our process around one goal: no surprises. From scheduling to the final repair, you stay informed at every step.
Step 1: Schedule an Appointment
Book online or call us at (931) 271-1646. We can find a time that works for you, and our complimentary shuttle service means you can get on with your day while we work.
Step 2: Free Visual Brake Inspection & Digital Vehicle Inspection
Our technician performs a free visual brake inspection on most vehicles and documents the findings using our Digital Vehicle Inspection (DVI). The DVI captures actual photos of your brake components so you can see exactly what we see before any decision is made. No guesswork, no pressure.
Step 3: Clear Explanation, Then Repairs Begin
We walk you through every recommendation in plain language before any work starts. Once you’ve approved the service, our ASE-certified technicians get to work. All brake repairs are covered by our Nice Difference Warranty: 3 years or 36,000 miles, whichever occurs last, honored at our Clarksville location and at any participating Christian Brothers Automotive locations nationwide.

Not Sure If Your Brakes Need Attention?
Some warning signs are obvious. Others are easy to dismiss until they become a bigger problem. Here’s what to watch for and what it might mean for your brake system.
Warning Signs That Warrant a Brake Inspection
These are the most common indicators that your brakes are due for a closer look:
- Squealing or high-pitched noise when braking typically points to worn brake pads nearing the end of their usable life.
- Grinding when you apply the brakes can signal metal-on-metal contact from severely worn pads or shoes against rotors.
- A soft, spongy, or low brake pedal may indicate air in the brake lines or a brake fluid issue.
- Pulling to one side during braking can point to uneven pad wear or a sticking caliper.
- Shaking or vibration when stopping often relates to warped or uneven rotors.
- An illuminated brake warning light or ABS light on your dashboard warrants prompt professional inspection.
Any one of these symptoms is a reason to schedule a free visual brake inspection at our Clarksville shop. Catching wear early can be less costly than waiting until it progresses.
Disc Brakes & Drum Brakes: What Our Technicians Inspect
Most vehicles use a combination of disc and drum brakes depending on the axle. Understanding the difference helps explain what your technician is looking at during an inspection.
Disc brakes work by pressing brake pads against a rotor to create friction and slow the vehicle. They’re standard on front axles and increasingly common on all four wheels. Rotors can develop grooves, scoring, or warping from heat and repeated use, which affects both braking smoothness and stopping distance.
Drum brakes use curved brake shoes that press outward against the inside of a drum. They’re often found on the rear axles of many vehicles. Like pads, brake shoes wear down over time and require periodic replacement.
Routine brake inspections let our technicians catch wear in pads, shoes, and rotors before it progresses to more extensive damage. That’s exactly what the free visual brake inspection on most vehicles is designed to do.
