Owned by Neighbors Who Know This Community
Laura and Justin Richter own and operate Christian Brothers Automotive Clarksville and are here every day. Justin brings hands-on automotive experience; Laura brings a background in medicine and applies that same standard of care to every guest who walks through our doors. Together, they’ve built a shop that the Sango, Richview, Rossview, and Kirkwood communities can count on. When you bring your vehicle to us, you’re not dealing with a call center or a rotating manager. You’re talking to the people whose names are on the building.
What to Know About Wheel Alignment
Signs Your Vehicle May Need an Alignment
The clearest signals are a car that pulls left or right on a straight road, a steering wheel that isn’t centered when you’re driving straight, or tires wearing faster on one edge than the other. Steering vibration can point to alignment or suspension issues as well.
A single impact can knock your alignment out immediately. Hitting a pothole, clipping a curb, or even a low-speed collision are common causes. Daily driving on roads with surface imperfections also shifts alignment angles gradually over time. Keeping your alignment within specification can help extend tire life and support more consistent fuel efficiency, though results vary by vehicle and driving conditions.
What the Alignment Service Measures & Adjusts
Alignment service addresses three primary angles in your steering and suspension system. Camber is the inward or outward tilt of the tire when viewed from the front of the vehicle. Too much negative camber wears the inner edge, and too much positive wears the outer. Caster is the angle of the steering axis viewed from the side and affects how stable and self-correcting your steering feels. Toe measures whether the fronts of your tires point slightly inward or outward relative to each other; incorrect toe causes rapid, feathered wear across the tread.
Our computerized alignment technology places sensors on each wheel and generates precise angle readings. Technicians compare those readings against the manufacturer specification ranges for your specific vehicle, make the necessary adjustments, and take a final measurement to confirm every angle is within spec before the car goes back to you.
How Often to Have Alignment Checked
A reasonable baseline is once per year or with every other oil change. Any significant impact (a large pothole, a curb strike, or a minor collision) warrants an immediate check rather than waiting for the next scheduled interval. New tires are also a smart time to verify alignment, since misalignment can accelerate wear on a fresh set. Vehicles with modified suspensions or lifted ride heights may need more frequent inspections, given the added stress on steering and suspension components.
