Fall Road Trip Destinations
With summer coming to a close, it’s finally time to enjoy the wonderful fall season. That could mean a number of different things to different people, but one thing that everyone can enjoy is watching the leaves change colors. If you and your family want to plan a road trip to see some fall scenery, you’re in luck. The Huffington Post recently published a list of The Best Fall Foliage Trips in the U.S. to help with your brainstorming. Below we have listed four of our favorites from their list:
- Michigan’s Upper Peninsula: There are over 20 forested state parks in the state’s upper peninsula, allowing you to see several types of trees in fantastic fall colors. You will also come across many photo opportunities with over 300 waterfalls and 40 lighthouses in the peninsula.
- Aspen, Colorado: A city known as a skiing hotspot, Aspen isn’t usually spoken of when it comes to fall scenery, but it ought to be. The combination of aspen trees and mountain peaks provides scenic views that you won’t ever forget.
- Glacier National Park: This national park in Montana and Canada includes over one million acres of open land, lakes, and mountain ranges. Fall is typically a great time to visit this park and avoid large crowds.
- Columbia River Gorge: This canyon is cut into the Cascade Mountain Range, providing a number of unique vistas. But if you haven’t seen it in the fall, you haven’t truly experienced the Columbia River Gorge.
