Cooling System Service in Little Rock, AR

ASE-Certified Technicians, On-Site Owner, No Surprises

Your engine depends on a functioning cooling system to stay at a safe operating temperature, especially during Arkansas’s hot, humid summers. At Christian Brothers Automotive West Little Rock on Chenal Parkway, our ASE-certified technicians handle cooling system service for every make and model, foreign and domestic. Owner/operator Lee Moore is on-site for every service, providing direct accountability rather than an anonymous transaction.

We recommend a coolant flush once a year as a general starting point for cooling system maintenance, though the right interval depends on your vehicle’s make, model, and how you drive. Whether you’re here for a scheduled flush or something more urgent, no work is performed without your approval, and no unnecessary services are recommended.

If your temperature gauge is climbing or you’ve spotted a puddle under your vehicle, don’t wait. Call us at (501) 518-5466 or schedule online to bring your car in for a cooling system inspection.

Cooling System vs. A/C: Two Different Systems

Your vehicle’s cooling system and its air conditioning system are separate. Cooling system service addresses engine temperature regulation, not cabin cooling. If your engine is overheating, that’s a cooling system issue. If warm air is blowing from your vents, that’s A/C. Many shops blur this distinction. We don’t.

The cooling system circulates antifreeze through the engine to absorb heat and disperse it through the radiator. Antifreeze doesn’t last the life of the vehicle. Over time, it breaks down, becomes acidic, and loses its ability to protect metal components from corrosion.

Warning signs that your cooling system needs attention:

  • Engine overheating or a temperature gauge reading higher than normal
  • Coolant puddles under the vehicle after it’s been parked
  • A low coolant dashboard warning light
  • A sweet smell near the engine compartment

The four most common issues we see are water pump failure, leaky radiator hoses, radiator leaks, and thermostat failure. A faulty thermostat can prevent coolant from circulating properly; a failing water pump stops coolant flow entirely. Left unaddressed, either condition can lead to overheating and engine damage.

What a Coolant Flush Involves

A coolant flush is the primary maintenance service for your vehicle’s cooling system. We push fresh antifreeze through the system to completely evacuate old antifreeze and built-up contaminants, removing all old coolant before new antifreeze goes in. We then add conditioners that inhibit rust and scale deposits, extending the life of the new antifreeze and protecting internal components.

What to Expect at Our Little Rock Shop

Here’s how the process works from drop-off to pickup:

  • Schedule online or by phone describing your concern or the service you need
  • Drop off your vehicle for diagnostics and inspection using manufacturer-equivalent equipment
  • Receive your Digital Vehicle Inspection report with photos and videos sent directly to you
  • Review findings with a service advisor and approve or defer any recommended work before it begins
  • Most services are completed the same day, or scheduled around parts availability and your calendar

Every vehicle is different, so the right maintenance interval depends on your make, model, and how you drive. Your owner’s manual can specify when a coolant flush is due. Whatever brings you in, you stay informed at every step. That’s how we operate, on every visit, for every customer.
