What to Expect When You Bring Your Vehicle In
Our AC service process is built around transparency. When your vehicle arrives, we perform a free Digital Vehicle Inspection (DVI) that includes actual photos of your vehicle’s condition, so you can see exactly what our technicians see: no guesswork and no pressure to approve work you don’t understand.
A proper AC diagnosis starts with a system performance check: measuring vent temperature and system pressure, followed by a visual inspection of the compressor, belts, hoses, and connections for signs of leaks or wear. If a refrigerant recharge is needed, the old refrigerant is evacuated, and the system is refilled to your vehicle manufacturer’s exact specifications. Every repair is completed using manufacturer-quality equipment.
We also include a free Courtesy Inspection covering major systems like lights, brakes, suspension, tires, and battery. You leave with a complete picture of your vehicle’s health, not just an AC fix.

Not Sure If Your AC Needs Service?
If you’re noticing something off but aren’t certain it’s an AC problem, read on. The warning signs below can help you decide when it’s time to schedule a visit.
Signs Your Car’s AC System Needs Attention
St. Louis County summers are no time to be without working air conditioning. These are the most common symptoms that signal your vehicle’s AC system needs professional attention:
- Air barely cooler than outside: If vent output is only slightly cooler than the ambient temperature, the system isn’t functioning at capacity.
- Musty or mildew smell from the vents: This often points to a failing evaporator or moisture buildup in the climate control system that can affect cabin air quality.
- AC that cuts out at idle: A system that cools while driving but stops working when you’re stationary usually indicates a pressure or compressor issue.
- Weak airflow at the highest fan setting: Restricted airflow can stem from a clogged cabin air filter, a failing blower motor, or blocked ducts.
- Moisture or greasy residue under the vehicle: Visible leaks beneath the car may indicate a refrigerant or condensate leak that needs diagnosis.
Catching these problems early matters. AC systems that go without maintenance develop hose cracks, clogs, and compressor wear that can turn a minor service visit into a much larger repair.
Understanding Your Vehicle’s AC System
Knowing what each component does helps you understand what our technicians may address during a car AC repair. It also explains why it matters for restoring cooling performance.
AC Compressor
The compressor pressurizes the refrigerant and drives the entire cooling cycle. When it begins to fail, a common symptom is little or no cold air from the vents. It’s one of the more significant components in the system, which is why a thorough diagnostic inspection is the right first step before any repair is recommended.
AC Condenser
Located near the radiator, the condenser cools the refrigerant after compression and converts it back into a liquid. Damage, clogs, or debris impact can reduce your system’s overall cooling capacity even when the compressor is working fine.
Evaporator
The evaporator sits inside the cabin and cools and dehumidifies the air before it reaches the vents. A failing evaporator is a common cause of musty odors and weak cooling. It often goes undiagnosed when only a refrigerant recharge is performed.
Refrigerant
Refrigerant must be at the correct level and free of leaks for the system to work. Most vehicles from model year 2021 onward use the newer 1234yf refrigerant. A recharge without first diagnosing and repairing leaks won’t provide a lasting fix. Hoses, seals, and belts that connect AC components also degrade over time and are a frequent source of refrigerant loss.
