The Nice Difference® in Brake Service
At Christian Brothers Automotive South Tomball, we are dedicated to reshaping your perception of auto repair. We believe in providing a service experience built on honesty, transparency, and trust. Our process always starts with a thorough inspection of your vehicle's braking system. Once our technicians have diagnosed the issue, we provide a detailed, easy-to-understand estimate that includes a complete breakdown of parts and labor costs. We will never perform any work without your explicit approval, ensuring you are always in control of your vehicle's repairs.
During our comprehensive brake inspection, we meticulously check every critical part of your braking system. This detailed assessment includes:
- Brake Pad and Shoe Thickness: We measure the thickness of your brake pads and shoes to determine their remaining lifespan and to ensure they are wearing evenly.
- Rotor and Drum Condition: We inspect the surfaces of your rotors and drums for any signs of uneven wear, warping, or scoring, which can lead to a less effective stop and vibrations.
- Brake Fluid: We check the quality and level of your brake fluid. Contaminated or low fluid can severely impact braking performance and cause damage to the system.
- Brake Hardware: We examine the clips, pins, and springs that hold your brake components in place, as these can rust and wear out over time.
- Brake Hoses and Lines: These can become brittle or crack, so we inspect them for any signs of wear and tear that could lead to a loss of brake pressure.
Recognizing Brake Issues
Being proactive about your vehicle's health is the best way to avoid a dangerous situation. It is crucial to be aware of the warning signs that indicate your brakes need professional attention. If you experience any of the following, it is a strong signal that you should visit Christian Brothers Automotive South Tomball for an inspection:
- A high-pitched squealing or grinding noise occurs when you apply the brakes. This often indicates that your brake pads are worn down to the wear indicators.
- A spongy or soft brake pedal that feels like it’s sinking to the floor. This can be a sign of a fluid leak or air in your hydraulic lines.
- The brake warning light on your dashboard illuminates.
- Your vehicle pulls to one side when you brake.
- A pulsating or vibrating sensation in the brake pedal or steering wheel while braking may be a sign of warped rotors.
- Longer stopping distances than usual.
Ignoring these symptoms can lead to more serious and expensive repairs, and more importantly, it puts your safety and the safety of those around you at risk.
