1. Schedule Your Appointment
Whether scheduling online or over the phone be sure and let us know what you're experiencing so we can provide fast and accurate service advice.
2. Diagnostics and Inspections
Drop off your vehicle and the shop will get to work with inspections and diagnostics using the same equipment as the manufacturers to determine issues and next steps.
3. Digital Vehicle Inspection Report and Estimate
Following the diagnosis we will text you a digital vehicle inspection report, containing pictures and videos of our findings and recommendations.
4. Review and Approval
A service advisor will reach out to walk you through the findings and recommendations to determine how you would like to proceed, or you can approve work directly in your DVI.
5. Work Performed or Scheduled
Most work can be completed immediately, or scheduled based on parts and customer availability.
Honest AC Service for Every Vehicle We Touch
We work on cars, trucks, Jeeps, and SUVs, no matter the make or model. Whatever you drive, our process starts the same way: a free Digital Vehicle Inspection that gives you photo documentation of what we found. You see the issue clearly before we ever ask you to approve a repair. No work is performed without your sign-off, and that’s not just policy. It’s how Scott and Tammie run this shop.
How to Tell Your Car’s AC Needs Service
Kansas summers routinely push temperatures into the 90s. A marginal AC system that seemed fine in May can fail completely by July. These are the warning signs worth paying attention to before that happens:
- Warm or barely cool air: Air blowing at or near outside temperature is a common indicator of low refrigerant or a failing compressor.
- Weak airflow at full fan speed: If the air volume feels low even at the highest setting, the issue may be a blower motor problem or a clogged cabin air filter.
- Musty or strange smells from the vents: Odors often point to mold or bacteria buildup inside a dormant or leaking AC system.
- Moisture or pooling under the dashboard: This can signal a blocked evaporator drain rather than a refrigerant problem.
- Grinding or squealing when the AC activates: Unusual noises at startup frequently indicate compressor wear or early failure.
- AC works while driving but cuts out at idle: Intermittent cooling often points to refrigerant pressure issues or a compressor clutch problem.
Any of these signs warrants a diagnostic check. Catching the issue early can keep a manageable repair from becoming a costly one.
What AC Diagnostics & Repair Involve
AC diagnostics typically include a performance check measuring vent temperature and system pressure, a visual inspection of the compressor, belts, hoses, and condenser, and leak detection to pinpoint where refrigerant may be escaping. That process tells a technician whether the system needs a refrigerant recharge or a more involved repair.
Recharge vs. Full Repair
A refrigerant recharge restores cooling when pressure is low and no leak is present. When there’s a confirmed leak, a failed component, or an electrical fault, a full repair is required. The distinction matters because recharging a leaking system only delays the underlying failure.
Key components in a vehicle’s AC system include the compressor, condenser, evaporator, expansion valve, receiver/dryer, and refrigerant lines. Each plays a role in removing heat from the cabin. A compressor failure typically produces grinding or squealing and can cause the system to stop engaging entirely. Refrigerant loss alone causes weak or warm air without mechanical noise, which is why diagnostic pressure testing is the starting point rather than an assumption.
Modern vehicles use either R-134a or R-1234yf refrigerant. Using the correct type and amount for your specific vehicle is essential. Mixing refrigerant types can damage the compressor and compromise the entire system. Cabin air filters are also part of the overall climate control system and should be inspected during AC service, since a clogged filter restricts airflow regardless of whether the refrigerant and compressor are functioning correctly.
Why Deferring AC Repairs Costs More
When refrigerant runs low, the compressor can run without adequate lubrication. Over time, that can lead to premature compressor failure, one of the more expensive AC repairs. A small refrigerant leak left unaddressed will typically worsen, eventually causing complete system failure rather than a straightforward recharge.
Scheduling AC service before peak summer heat gives technicians the chance to find and correct developing issues while the vehicle is still functional. Waiting until the system fails completely in late July can mean a longer repair timeline and a hotter wait.

Q. "Why won't my A/C blow cold air?"If you notice any fluid under your car it may be due to a leak within your A/C system. However, issues can range from the fan not working properly to needing a recharge. Click here to find out all the potential reasons your vehicle's A/C is not working properly.
-
Q. "Can I Recharge A Failing AC Myself?"It is possible if you have the proper knowledge and equipment, however, you may want to turn to a professional to avoid damage to your system. Click here to learn more about the dangers of at-home vehicle A/C recharges.
-
Q. "How Does Outside Heat Affect My AC?"The hotter it is outside, the harder the air conditioning in your vehicle has to work. Rising outside temperatures put extra strain on your entire vehicle and its cooling system, from the battery and belts to hoses and fluids, requiring each part to work overtime to keep your vehicle cool. The result of extreme spikes in temperatures may even require you to replace your air filter sooner, along with other various components that ensure your car’s cabin remains comfortable.
