Three Things Monument Drivers Can Check on Their Car Today
If you are like most people out there, you probably don't have the time or know-how to handle repairs with your car. Luckily, that is why Christian Brothers Automotive is here. Our team provides several different automotive services for our Monument customers, including oil changes, emission inspections, AC repairs, and alignments.
But that doesn't mean you should ignore your car between visits to Christian Brothers Automotive. Here are three simple things that you can check on your car on a regular basis that may improve performance and help you avoid larger problems.
1. Windshield Wipers
Worn windshield wipers can turn a drive in the rain from a stressful experience into something very dangerous. As a car owner, you should probably replace your wipers every six to twelve months, depending on how much you drive. If you're looking for an indication if your wipers need to be replaced, listen for squeaking, skipping, or streaking sounds. If it's time for a new set, you should be able to replace them yourself in just a few minutes.
2. Tire Pressure
The DMV recommends that you should check your tire pressure at least every other week. To learn the ideal PSI for your tires, check your owner's manual or the sticker on your driver's side door. If more air is needed, you should be able to use an air compressor at a local gas station for a few quarters.
3. Lights
Take a minute or two to check your headlights, brake lights, and turn signals with the assistance of a friend or family member. Find one that is broken? Go to a local auto parts store to find the right bulb for your car and read your manual to learn how to replace it yourself. Or you can drop by Christian Brothers Automotive and have us handle the replacement for you.
Are you still reading this? Get outside and check these items on your vehicle now! Knowing that your tires, wipers, and lights are working can go a long way to helping you feel better about driving on Monument roads.
