Our Simple Three-Step Process
1. Schedule Your Appointment
Whether scheduling online or over the phone be sure and let us know what you're experiencing so we can provide fast and accurate service advice.
2. Diagnostics and Inspections
Drop off your vehicle and the shop will get to work with inspections and diagnostics using the same equipment as the manufacturers to determine issues and next steps.
3. Digital Vehicle Inspection Report and Estimate
Following the diagnosis we will text you a digital vehicle inspection report, containing pictures and videos of our findings and recommendations.
4. Review and Approval
A service advisor will reach out to walk you through the findings and recommendations to determine how you would like to proceed, or you can approve work directly in your DVI.
5. Work Performed or Scheduled
Most work can be completed immediately, or scheduled based on parts and customer availability.
See Your Tires Before We Start
Our Digital Vehicle Inspection (DVI) gives you actual photos of your vehicle’s tires and components, not just a description of what a technician found. You see what we see. No repair or service is started until you’ve reviewed the findings and given your approval. That’s how tire repair at Christian Brothers Automotive works.
Tire Tips for Katy Drivers
Signs Your Tires Need Attention
Some tire problems announce themselves loudly. Others develop gradually. Knowing what to look for can help you catch an issue before it affects your safety.
Common warning signs include:
- Uneven or excessive tread wear across the tire surface
- Vibration in the steering wheel or the vehicle pulling to one side
- Visible sidewall damage, cracking, or bulging
- A TPMS dashboard alert indicating low tire pressure
- Squealing during turns, which can signal pressure or wear issues
Tread depth below 2/32 of an inch is generally considered unsafe, particularly on wet roads where stopping distances increase. Our Courtesy Inspection checks your tires on every visit, so small problems can be flagged before they become expensive ones.
Choosing the Right Tires for Katy Conditions
The Houston area’s warm temperatures, Gulf Coast rainfall, and mix of highway and stop-and-go driving all factor into which tire type suits your vehicle best. All-season tires handle this combination well for most drivers. Performance tires offer sharper highway response but may wear faster under daily suburban use. All-terrain tires make sense if your truck or SUV regularly goes off pavement. Your owner’s manual lists the manufacturer’s recommendations, and that’s a solid starting point.
Rotation, Balancing & TPMS: What Each Service Does
Tire rotation moves each tire to a different position on the vehicle so wear distributes evenly across all four. Wheel balancing corrects uneven weight distribution that causes vibration and accelerates tread wear. These two services are often paired because the symptoms overlap.
TPMS sensors monitor air pressure in real time. When the dashboard warning light comes on, the sensor may need a reset or, in some cases, a replacement. The correct PSI for your vehicle is listed on the sticker inside the driver’s side door jamb, and keeping tires properly inflated helps protect tread life and fuel efficiency.
