Frequently Asked Questions
How do I know if my car is due for a tune-up?
Common signs that your vehicle may be ready for a tune-up include difficulty starting, a rough idle, reduced fuel economy, or a feeling that your car does not accelerate as smoothly as it used to.
You might also notice that it takes longer to warm up on cold mornings or that dashboard lights begin to flicker on and off. Even if your car seems to be running fine, it is wise to compare your current mileage to the maintenance schedule in your owner’s manual and schedule an appointment if you are overdue.
Can I combine a tune-up with other maintenance services?
Many drivers choose to combine their tune-up with other routine services to save time and reduce the number of shop visits. For example, it often makes sense to coordinate oil changes, tire rotations, or brake inspections with your tune-up so your vehicle receives a thorough check in one visit.
When you book your appointment, you can let us know what is due soon, and we can help plan a service package that fits your priorities and keeps your day as convenient as possible.
How long does a typical tune-up appointment take?
The length of a tune-up visit depends on your vehicle, its condition, and which services are needed, but most appointments can be completed within part of a workday.
Simple inspections and basic adjustments are usually finished sooner, while vehicles that need additional parts or more in-depth checks may take longer. When you drop off your car, we can give you a time frame based on what we see and keep you updated if anything changes, so you can plan your day around the service.
Will a tune-up improve my gas mileage?
Yes, replacing worn components like spark plugs and air filters can significantly improve your engine performance and fuel economy.
When your engine doesn't have to work as hard to produce power, you save money at the pump while reducing wear on other internal parts.
What is included in a battery health check?
During a battery health check, we test the battery's voltage and cold-cranking amps to ensure it has enough power to start your car in freezing weather.
We also inspect the terminals for corrosion and ensure the mounting brackets are secure, preventing unexpected failures during winter.
Is spark plug replacement always necessary during a tune-up?
Not always, but it is a critical component of many tune-ups. Worn plugs can cause misfires and poor acceleration.
Our ASE-certified technicians inspect their condition and only recommend replacement if they are fouled or have reached the end of their service life.
Can I use the shuttle service for a quick maintenance visit?
Absolutely. We offer a complimentary shuttle service for all our guests, whether you are in for a quick fluid check or a more extensive tune-up.
