Kirk and Janet Linahan
Owner & Operator
Kirk has a strong background in business management, sales and marketing. While searching for a new business venture, he spent several hours researching franchise partnerships that specifically matched his personal values and goals. After learning more about Christian Brothers Automotive, he knew he’d found a match! Kirk and his wife Janet joined the Christian Brothers Automotive team in 2017, and soon after moved cross country from the dry, brown mountains of Santa Clarita, CA to the lush, green coast of Virginia Beach. By the end of January 2018, store #178 was up and running.
Kirk grew up in Los Angeles, CA and Janet in Sodus, NY. They met in Pensacola, FL while Kirk was in flight school and Janet was attending the University of West Florida. Within a few months, Kirk was transferred to Cherry Point MCAS and they were married in the base chapel. Kirk separated from the military after 9+ years in the both the Navy and Marine Corp, and he and Janet moved to California and spent the next 27 years working and raising their three children in the Los Angeles area. During those years, Kirk & Janet were active in their local church with various ministries, and volunteered for the community youth orchestra, youth sports programs and home school groups. Kirk also completed his Masters of Divinity, with an emphasis in Biblical Counseling.
When Kirk and Janet aren’t at the shop, you will find them exploring Hampton Roads and all the surrounding area has to offer (history, music, festivals, beaches, etc)! They enjoy biking, kayaking, walks on the beach, and being entertained by Boomer, their 11 year old Schnoodle. They are thankful for the gift of raising three wonderful children, Tyler (23), Kelly (21) and Jason (20), and are always excited when they are here to visit during school breaks!
Kirk and Janet are looking forward to settling in Virginia Beach, and especially feel right at home serving the military community (and surrounded by the “sound of freedom”). They are also looking forward to finding ministry opportunities in their new community and church.
Their mission is to glorify God by doing excellent and ethical automotive repair for their customers.
David Bledsoe - Service Manager
As the Service Manager, David oversees customer service, manages workflow
throughout the auto repair shop, and is responsible for inventory and
parts deliveries. Before coming to work at Christian Brothers Automotive,
he worked as a Service Manager for Hall Honda and Chrysler for 10+ years.
David was born in Akron, Ohio and lived in West Virginia, Texas, and Arizona before he and his wife Karol settled in Virginia Beach over 15 years ago. He and Karol are the proud parents of Reef (23) and Kai (16), and also enjoy the companionship of their two full breed Presa Canarios (Maggie & Libby) and Milly, a husky/boxer rescue dog.
In his free time, David enjoys riding his 2017 Vulcan motorcycle and attending festivals, poker, live music, or “anything in the woods or on a river”!
Ed Potter - Service Writer
Ed was born and raised in LaFayette NY, and even built his own home in
Tully, NY before deciding the cold weather and snow wasn’t for him!
In 1986 he made the trek south to the milder weather of Virginia Beach.
Ed started as a tech in 1969 for a Chrysler dealer, then owned and operated
his own gas station from 1973-1980. Since 1980, he has worked in automotive
management for dealerships and private ownership garages.
With his wealth of expertise, Ed serves as our service advisor in the front office. His primary role is to interact with customers over the phone, gather information from customers about their service needs, make estimates and maintain workflow and progress.
Ed and his wife Terri have 5 children and 10 grandchildren, and are thankful to have them all close by in the Virginia Beach area. Their home stays busy trying to keep the peace between Sadie (Ed’s one year old Walker Hound) and Amos and Lucy (Terri’s two cats).
Ed is a lifetime member of the Antique Auto Club of America, and enjoys anything to do with cars ... in particular, NASCAR, hot rod events/shows, and Saturday night racing at Langley Speedway. He and Terri also enjoy camping, attending concerts at the local amphitheater, and quiet dinners out, exploring the wide variety of restaurants in the Hampton Roads area.
Kris moore - technician
Kris was born into a Coast Guard family and lived in 8 different states before settling in the Hampton Roads area for the past 18 years. Kris found his niche for automotive repair at a young age, and purchased/rebuilt his first car (a ‘59 Ford F100) when he was just 14 years old. He comes to us as an ASE Master Technician with 18 years of automotive experience in Mazda, Nissan, and Volvo dealerships as well as experience in private automotive repair chains.
Kris and his wife Carrie are the proud parents of Tiffani, Cody, Chandler, Clayton and Dylan. The most recent addition to the family is Caleb, their first grandchild. On warm summer weekends you will find them either camping in their new RV, or boating on the Elizabeth River in their 2007 Mastercraft X-Star Wakeboard boat (purchased after it was used in the 2007 X Games here in Virginia Beach). Their kids are all actively involved in baseball, football, and soccer … which keeps them busy during the school year and summer leagues, both as spectators and volunteer coaching whenever needed.
Richard "Richie" Olson - Technician
As a recent high school graduate, it was Richie’s love for his ‘69 Oldsmobile Cutlass that began his automotive career. The owner of a tire store knew Richie enjoyed working on cars, and recruited him to work at his shop. Soon after, he had acquired enough knowledge to move into automotive repair at a local dealership. He came to us with over 20 years of experience as a Master Technician at both Kia and Pontiac.
He and his wife, Jennifer, are celebrating 21 years of marriage and have lived in the Virginia Beach area for most of their lives. They are the proud parents of Jacob (a freshman at Old Dominion University) and Noah, who is still in high school.
When Richie’s not working on cars, he’s an artist at heart and spends his weekends transforming discarded furniture with creative paint applications. He also enjoys cooking and trying out new recipes on his family, friends and coworkers. If he’s not painting or cooking, you will find he and his wife enjoying a good movie at the local Cinema Cafe!
