Kirk and Janet Linahan
Owner & Operator
Kirk has a strong background in business management, sales and marketing. While searching for a new business venture, he spent several weeks researching franchise partnerships that specifically matched his personal values and goals. After learning more about Christian Brothers Automotive, he knew he’d found a match! Kirk and his wife Janet joined the Christian Brothers Automotive team in 2017, and by the end of January 2018, store #178 was up and running.
Kirk grew up in Los Angeles, CA and Janet in Sodus, NY. They met in Pensacola, FL while Kirk was in flight school and Janet was attending the University of West Florida. Within a few months, Kirk was transferred to Cherry Point MCAS and they were married in the base chapel. Kirk separated from the military after 9+ years in both the Navy and Marine Corps, and he and Janet moved to California and spent the next 27 years working and raising their three awesome kids (Tyler, Kelly & Jason) in the Los Angeles area.
When Kirk and Janet aren’t at the shop, you will find them exploring Hampton Roads and all the surrounding area has to offer (history, music, festivals, beaches, etc)! They enjoy biking, kayaking, walks on the beach, and spending time with their new friends and church family in Virginia Beach.
Their mission is to glorify God by doing excellent and ethical automotive repair for their customers, and modeling the Christian Brothers Automotive “Love your neighbor” motto.

customers about their service needs, make estimates and maintain workflow
Matt and his fiancée, Leeanna, are busy planning a wedding for next year! Between them they have 3 children, 2 cats and a dog. He also enjoys camping, fishing and bowling.
BRIAN SCHULTZ - CUSTOMER CARE REPRESENTATIVE
Brian first came to us as a loyal customer, then soon after was hired part-time to help with our shuttle services. He recently joined the staff full-time as our Customer Care Representative. He is committed to serving our guests with excellence at the front counter, as well as continuing to provide shuttle services to home or work!
Brian was born and raised in Wisconsin. So, of course, he is a loyal Packers fan and “bleeds green and gold”! He relocated to the Hampton Roads area 10 years ago, and has spent most of his career working with nonprofits in the human service and military sectors. He and his wife, Priscilla, live in Virginia Beach with their “boys”, Sampson & Hercules (both Leonbergers, a German mountain dog). They are registered therapy dogs, faithfully giving joy to many residents at local assisted living and retirement centers.

KRIS MOORE - TECHNICIAN
Kris was born into a Coast Guard family and lived in 8 different states before settling in the Hampton Roads area for the past 18 years. Kris found his niche for automotive repair at a young age, and purchased/rebuilt his first car (a ‘59 Ford F100) when he was just 14 years old. He comes to us as an ASE Senior Master Technician with 20+ years of automotive experience in Mazda, Nissan, and Volvo dealerships as well as experience in private automotive repair chains.
Kris is the proud father of Tiffani, Cody, Chandler, Clayton, and Dylan. The most recent addition to the family is Caleb, his first grandchild! On warm summer weekends you will find them out navigating the local waterways on their jet skis, or enjoying their timeshare in the Shenandoahs. His kids are all actively involved in baseball, football, and soccer … which keeps them busy year around. Last but not least, Kris is the head coach for our newly formed Christian Brothers Automotive Virginia Beach softball team!
RICHARD ROSE - TECHNICIAN
As a child, if there was a screw in any of the toys in the house, Richard was sure to take it apart! His family knew at a young age he was destined to do something mechanical. He got his start working in his father’s auto repair shop, and has worked for the past 30+ years in various locations throughout Hampton Roads, across multiple brands. He is a Honda Master Technician and ASE Senior Master Technician.
Born in Cleveland, Ohio, he moved to Virginia Beach as a young boy and has lived here ever since. He met his wife, Diane, on a blind date in 1989, and will celebrate his 24th wedding anniversary in April. In his free time he enjoys serving as a Girl Scout leader for his two daughters. Richard also recently started working as an EMT for the Virginia Beach Volunteer Rescue Squad (we are happy to have his medical expertise around the shop!). If there is any other spare time in his schedule, he enjoys woodworking or camping with this family.
JOSEPH DIAZ (DIAZ ) - TECHNICIAN
Born in the Bronx, Diaz grew up tagging along while his dad repaired cars on the side for their friends and neighbors. He moved to this area in junior high, and studied criminal justice at Lake Taylor High School. But soon after graduation, he realized his true passion was in automotive repair. He attended Advanced Technology Institute (ATI) and earned a degree in Automotive Technology, and is also an ASE certified technician.
Diaz and his wife, Valerie, keep busy on the weekends with their 7 year old son and 5 month old goldendoodle, Honey. They enjoy playing basketball at the park, and Diaz also plays for a local softball league. Whenever possible, he tries to get down to the Dominican Republic to visit his many aunts, uncles and cousins!
WILLIAM MEDINA - TECHNICIAN
Raised in Manhattan, Will grew up dreaming of flying fighter jets. When that dream was dashed due to his eyesight, Will decided if he couldn’t fly jets, he would learn how to fix them! He graduated two years later from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University with an Associates degree as an airplane mechanic. Within a few years, he transitioned to work for Uhaul trucks, and for the past 17 years has worked at multiple dealerships throughout Hampton Roads. He came to us as a Toyota Master Technician and ASE Senior Master Technician.
Will and his wife, Lisa, are the proud parents of 5 children and 6 grandchildren. Their “1 ¾” dogs keep them busy … a large blue heeler (1), medium cocker spaniel (½), and small schnauzer (¼).
On weekends Will enjoys working on his 7 year and running kitchen renovation, camping, or signing autographs (he claims he is commonly mistaken for Latin singer Marc Anthony, but we have our doubts)!
JAMES COOKE - TECHNICIAN
A native Kansan, Jim moved to Virginia Beach in 2019 to be closer to his grandkids and son, currently active duty Navy stationed in Norfolk. Jim comes to us as an ASE certified mechanic with almost 25 years of experience in the automotive industry.
