Radiator Repair & Cooling System Service in Colorado Springs

ASE-Certified Cooling System Service Backed by a 3-Year Warranty

At Christian Brothers Automotive Rockrimmon, our ASE-certified technicians service the full cooling system for Colorado Springs drivers, from coolant flushes to radiator repair, with written estimates before any work begins and no repairs performed without your approval. Owners Daymen and Heather Tiffany run the shop personally. That means the accountability you’d expect from a neighbor, not a chain.

Every visit includes a free Digital Vehicle Inspection, where we photograph your vehicle’s actual condition so you can see exactly what we see. If something needs attention, we explain it in plain language. If it doesn’t, we tell you that too. Our cooling system work is backed by the Nice Difference Warranty: 3 years or 36,000 miles, whichever occurs last. Christian Brothers Automotive Rockrimmon has been ranked #1 in Customer Satisfaction Among Aftermarket Full-Service Maintenance and Repair Providers in the J.D. Power 2025 Aftermarket Survey Index Study for the sixth consecutive time (for more information, visit jdpower.com/awards). We service both foreign and domestic vehicles.

Why Colorado Springs Is Hard on Cooling Systems

Colorado Springs sits above 6,000 feet in elevation. At that altitude, thinner air reduces how efficiently a radiator can shed heat, and coolant reaches its boiling point at a lower temperature than it would at sea level. That combination raises the risk of overheating even in vehicles that ran without issue at lower elevations.

The seasonal range makes the job harder still. Summer temperatures push into the 90s. Winter nights can drop below zero. A cooling system has to handle both extremes, helping reduce the risk of engine overheating in July and helping keep coolant from freezing in January. For drivers who head up mountain grades toward Pikes Peak or elsewhere in the Front Range, stop-and-go climbing puts additional thermal load on the engine, demanding more from the cooling system than typical highway miles ever would.

Signs Your Cooling System Needs Attention

Some cooling system problems announce themselves clearly. Others are easy to overlook until a bigger issue develops. Watch for these warning signs:

  • Temperature gauge running high: any reading above the normal range is worth investigating before it climbs further
  • Coolant warning light: a low-coolant alert or temperature warning on the dash
  • Sweet smell near the engine: coolant has a distinctive odor; smelling it under the hood or inside the cabin often signals a leak
  • Visible fluid under the vehicle: a puddle of green, orange, or pink fluid after parking
  • Needing to top off coolant frequently: a system that’s losing fluid without a visible puddle may have an internal or slow external leak
  • Steam from under the hood: a more urgent sign that the engine is running too hot

Coolant doesn’t last indefinitely. Over time it degrades, losing the properties that protect against overheating and freezing, and it picks up rust, scale, and debris along the way. A coolant flush removes that old fluid and contamination and replaces it with fresh coolant. We recommend one annually to keep the system working effectively. If you can’t remember your last flush, our team can evaluate where your vehicle stands.

Cooling System Inspection & Maintenance in Colorado Springs

A cooling system inspection covers the radiator, hoses, water pump, thermostat, coolant level, and pressure integrity. Our technicians check for leaks, worn components, and anything that could cause problems before they do. Pressure testing is particularly useful for identifying weak points that aren’t yet leaking but may not hold up under summer heat or a hard mountain drive.

The annual coolant flush is the baseline, but Colorado Springs drivers who regularly travel mountain grades or haven’t had their cooling system checked in a while may want to schedule an inspection sooner rather than waiting for a symptom to appear.
