Did You Know: It takes up to three football fields to safely brake in the rain?
Our Thorough Brake Inspection Process
At Christian Brothers Automotive Port Charlotte, we believe in complete transparency and education. When you bring your vehicle in for a brake inspection, we don't just give you a quick glance. Our technicians perform a detailed assessment of your entire braking system. We provide a detailed summary of our findings, explaining what needs attention and why. You'll receive a transparent breakdown of all parts and labor costs before any work begins, so you're always in control. We will never perform any repairs or services without your explicit consent.
During our comprehensive inspection, we meticulously check several key components of your brake system, including:
- Brake pad and shoe wear: We measure the remaining thickness to determine if they need to be replaced.
- Rotor and drum condition: We check for signs of warping, scoring, or excessive wear that can affect braking performance.
- Brake fluid: We examine both the level and the condition of your hydraulic fluid. This fluid can become contaminated or absorb moisture over time, which can compromise stopping power.
- Calipers and wheel cylinders: We inspect these components for leaks, proper function, and any signs of damage.
- Brake hoses and lines: These are critical for transferring hydraulic pressure. We check them for cracks, leaks, and signs of wear that could lead to a catastrophic failure.
- Brake hardware: We inspect all the clips, pins, and springs to ensure they are properly installed and not corroded.
