If you're concerned about the tread on your tires, we recommend the “penny test” to check your tread depth. Simply insert a penny into your tire's tread groove with Lincoln's head upside down and facing you. If you can see all of Lincoln's head, your tread depth is less than 2/32 inch and it's time to replace your tires.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I know if my wheels are misaligned?
Signs of misalignment include your vehicle pulling to one side, uneven tire wear, or a crooked steering wheel when driving straight.
Regular checks and correct alignment at Christian Brothers Automotive Port Charlotte ensure smooth and safe rides. If left unaddressed, these misalignment indicators can lead to safety concerns by impacting vehicle control, especially on wet or uneven surfaces.
Why is wheel alignment important on Port Charlotte roads?
Due to Port Charlotte's variable road conditions, maintaining proper alignment is crucial for ensuring road safety and optimal vehicle performance.
Our team uses advanced equipment to provide reliable alignment services tailored to local needs. Proper alignment reduces steering effort and enhances driving comfort while ensuring your tires wear evenly, saving you money in the long run.
How often should I get a wheel alignment?
We recommend checking your alignment annually or whenever you notice alignment symptoms or tire replacements. This routine helps prevent vehicular wear and ensures optimal handling and fuel efficiency.
Habitual alignment maintenance not only improves safety but also enhances vehicle responsiveness, translating to better maneuverability and overall driving satisfaction in all weather conditions.
What are the risks of not aligning my wheels?
Ignoring alignment issues can lead to accelerated tire wear, reduced fuel economy, and impaired vehicle handling. Regular alignments reduce these risks, ensuring your vehicle is road-ready.
Additionally, the stress on suspension and steering components can increase, potentially leading to costly repairs and more significant mechanical issues over time if misalignments are not addressed promptly.
Can alignment affect tire longevity?
Absolutely. Poor alignment increases tire wear, leading to replacements that could have been avoided with regular checkups. Our precision alignments at Christian Brothers Automotive Port Charlotte help maximize tire lifespan.
By maintaining correct alignment, we not only improve road traction and braking performance but also significantly reduce long-term vehicle maintenance costs, thereby enhancing the overall driving experience.
