Following the diagnosis we will text you a digital vehicle inspection report, containing pictures and videos of our findings and recommendations.
4. Review and Approval
A service advisor will reach out to walk you through the findings and recommendations to determine how you would like to proceed, or you can approve work directly in your DVI.
5. Work Performed or Scheduled
Most work can be completed immediately, or scheduled based on parts and customer availability.
See Exactly What We Found
After diagnosing your check engine light, we text you a Digital Vehicle Inspection (DVI) report with photos and videos of our findings and recommendations. You see what our technicians see, in plain terms, before any repair is approved. It’s transparency you can verify with your own eyes, not just take on faith.
Understanding Your Check Engine Light
Not all check engine lights carry the same urgency. Knowing the difference helps you respond appropriately.
Flashing Check Engine Light
A flashing check engine light signals an active, serious problem, most often a cylinder misfire that can cause rapid damage to the engine or catalytic converter. Don’t drive farther than necessary. Bring the vehicle in immediately.
Solid Check Engine Light
A solid check engine light means the vehicle’s computer has detected an ongoing fault. The vehicle may seem to run fine because the computer identifies out-of-range sensor readings before drivability symptoms appear. Common triggers include a loose or faulty gas cap, a failing oxygen sensor, worn spark plugs or ignition coils, catalytic converter faults, and mass airflow sensor issues. Diagnose it as soon as possible, since unresolved faults can affect emissions, fuel economy, and engine performance.
A Code Scan Is a Starting Point, Not a Diagnosis
Many auto parts stores offer a free OBD-II scanner read, and it’s tempting to treat the result as an answer. It isn’t. An OBD-II trouble code identifies which system triggered the alert, not what specifically failed. Clearing the code without repairing the underlying fault simply turns off the light until the problem returns, often worse.
Professional check engine light diagnostics involve live data analysis, sensor testing, and hands-on component evaluation that a basic code reader can’t replicate. Our technicians retrieve the codes, then inspect related systems, test sensors, and use manufacturer-grade equipment to pinpoint the root cause before recommending any repair.
Check Engine Lights & Arizona Emissions Inspections
In Arizona, an active check engine light can cause a vehicle to fail an emissions inspection. The state requires a vehicle’s OBD-II readiness monitors to confirm that all onboard systems have completed their self-tests. An unresolved fault prevents those monitors from clearing, which is why prompt diagnosis matters beyond just drivability.

FAQs
-
Q. "What is the difference between a steadily lit and a flashing check engine light?"A steadily lit light means that a sensor is sending a signal to your vehicle's computer that something is wrong or it could simply mean that the sensor is out. If your check engine light is flashing, however, that means there is a serious issue and you should stop driving immediately.
-
Q. "Why is my check engine light on but nothing seems to be wrong with my vehicle?"If nothing within your vehicle stands out, then it is possible that it is just a minor issue such as a loose gas cap or a bad O2 sensor. It is still recommended to see a mechanic if the light doesn't disappear to check for any larger issues.
-

-
Q. "What to do if your check engine light turns on?"We recommend heading to your local auto shop as soon as you are able. This is typically a sign that there is an abnormality within your engine.
-
Q. "Is it safe to drive your car when the check engine light is on?"It depends. If you are experiencing other noticeable issues with your vehicle, it may be best to pull over. Otherwise, it is typically okay to drive to your local auto shop. You will want to get this checked sooner rather than later to avoid being stranded with a broken-down car.
