How a Diesel Repair Visit Works
We’ve built our process around reducing uncertainty. Here’s what to expect from start to finish.
- Schedule your visit: Call or book online at a time that works for you. Let us know you’re bringing in a diesel vehicle so we’re prepared.
- Diagnosis and explanation: Our technicians run a thorough diagnostic using manufacturer-quality equipment, then explain what we found in plain language before any work begins. You’ll understand exactly what your vehicle needs and why.
- Quality repair, done right: We complete the work using manufacturer-quality parts and equipment, with the goal of getting it right the first time. Our industry-leading warranty backs that commitment.

Whether scheduling online or over the phone be sure and let us know what you're experiencing so we can provide fast and accurate service advice.
2. Diagnostics and Inspections
Drop off your vehicle and the shop will get to work with inspections and diagnostics using the same equipment as the manufacturers to determine issues and next steps.
3. Digital Vehicle Inspection Report and Estimate
Following the diagnosis we will text you a digital vehicle inspection report, containing pictures and videos of our findings and recommendations.
4. Review and Approval
A service advisor will reach out to walk you through the findings and recommendations to determine how you would like to proceed, or you can approve work directly in your DVI.
5. Work Performed or Scheduled
Most work can be completed immediately, or scheduled based on parts and customer availability.

Signs Your Diesel Vehicle Needs Attention
Diesel engines often give early warning before a small problem becomes a costly one. If you notice any of the following, it’s worth scheduling an inspection.
- Black or excessive exhaust smoke: A sign the engine isn’t burning fuel cleanly, which can point to injector, turbo, or air intake issues.
- Loss of power or sluggish acceleration: Often tied to fuel delivery, turbocharger boost, or emissions system problems.
- Hard starting or long cranking time: Can indicate a glow plug issue or a fuel system problem preventing proper ignition.
- Illuminated warning lights: A check engine light or DPF indicator means the engine management system has flagged something that needs a proper diagnostic read.
Our complimentary shuttle service means you don’t have to rearrange your day while we work on your vehicle. Call Christian Brothers Automotive White Rock at (214) 444-7954 to schedule your diesel repair appointment in Dallas.
Preventive Maintenance for Diesel Engines
Keeping up with routine maintenance is a cost-effective way to protect a diesel engine. Fuel filter changes, fluid checks, and using fluids appropriate for diesel systems all contribute to long-term reliability in ways that are easy to overlook until something fails.
Diesel components like injectors, the DPF, and the EGR system are designed to operate within specific parameters. When maintenance falls behind, those systems work harder and wear faster. Staying current on scheduled service generally costs less than replacing a component that failed due to neglect. If you’re not sure where your diesel stands on its maintenance schedule, we’re happy to take a look and give you a straightforward assessment.
