Our European Vehicle Inspection Process
You don’t need to identify the problem before bringing your vehicle to us. Describe the symptoms you’ve experienced, and we’ll use that information as a starting point for inspection and testing.
The service path may include:
- Reviewing the concern: We listen to your description of how the vehicle behaves.
- Inspecting the vehicle: A detailed inspection may involve a test drive, visual checks, and computer diagnostics.
- Explaining the findings: We discuss the vehicle’s needs without unexplained technical jargon.
1. Schedule Your Appointment
Whether scheduling online or over the phone be sure and let us know what you're experiencing so we can provide fast and accurate service advice.
2. Diagnostics and Inspections
Drop off your vehicle and the shop will get to work with inspections and diagnostics using the same equipment as the manufacturers to determine issues and next steps.
3. Digital Vehicle Inspection Report and Estimate
Following the diagnosis we will text you a digital vehicle inspection report, containing pictures and videos of our findings and recommendations.
4. Review and Approval
A service advisor will reach out to walk you through the findings and recommendations to determine how you would like to proceed, or you can approve work directly in your DVI.
5. Work Performed or Scheduled
Most work can be completed immediately, or scheduled based on parts and customer availability.
When Your European Vehicle Needs Diagnostic Help
We offer European Vehicle Service within our Transmission, Climate & Vehicle-Specific Services category. This includes diagnostic help for vehicle concerns and system-specific repairs based on the condition identified.
Warning lights, drivability concerns, unusual sounds, or performance changes require diagnosis before a repair can be recommended. Your description of when and how the symptom occurs helps us focus the diagnostic work.
Digital Vehicle Inspection Photos & Courtesy Checks
Our Waunakee location provides a free Digital Vehicle Inspection with photos. These images document visible conditions found during service and distinguish observed concerns from issues that require additional diagnostic testing.
We also provide a Courtesy Inspection. It isn’t a substitute for diagnosis when a specific symptom or warning light requires further evaluation.
The Courtesy Inspection covers:
- Lights
- Brakes
- Suspension
- Tires
- Battery
What Computer Diagnostics Can Tell You
A diagnostic code identifies a system that needs evaluation, but it doesn’t automatically identify a failed part. Finding the underlying concern may require comparing computer data with other inspection results.
A road test can help reproduce concerns that occur while the vehicle is operating. A visual inspection may also reveal wear, leaks, or damaged connections that affect performance. Together, these steps provide context that a code alone can’t supply.
Convenient European Vehicle Service for Dane County Drivers
Our owner/operators are on-site and involved in daily operations. If you don’t want to wait at the shop during service, complimentary shuttle service is available.
Our Waunakee location lists the FCXC Innovation Award and the Waunakee Chamber of Commerce among its awards and accolades.

Preparing for a Maintenance or Diagnostic Visit
Before your visit, note details that can help us evaluate the concern:
- When the concern occurs and how often it happens
- The driving conditions present at the time
- Any warning messages, unusual sounds, or changes in handling or performance
Maintenance records and information about previous repairs can provide additional context. You don’t need to translate your observations into a technical diagnosis. A straightforward description of what you’ve experienced gives the technician relevant information for inspection and testing.
