Frequently Asked Questions
Is It Safe to Keep Driving with an Exhaust Leak?
We don’t recommend it, especially if you can smell fumes inside the cabin. Exhaust leaks can affect air quality in the vehicle, and the underlying issue won’t improve on its own. We suggest having your system inspected promptly so our team can assess the situation and walk you through your options.
How Do You Diagnose Exhaust & Muffler Problems?
We start by listening to your concerns, then perform a visual and mechanical inspection of the exhaust system. That often means putting the vehicle on a lift and checking for rust, damage, or loose components. Once we know what’s going on, we explain the cause of the noise, smell, or vibration in plain terms before recommending any repairs.
Can I Wait at Your Shop During Exhaust Repairs?
In many cases, yes. We have a comfortable lobby where you can sit during your visit, and our staff keeps you updated on timing. For longer repairs, we can discuss shuttle options so you can get on with your day.
How Will I Know What My Exhaust Repair Will Cost?
After we inspect your exhaust system, we provide a detailed estimate before any work begins. Our team explains which repairs are needed, what parts will be used, and how labor is calculated. You’ll have a chance to ask questions and approve the plan before we move forward, no surprises.
What Kind of Warranty Do You Offer on Exhaust Repairs?
Qualifying exhaust and muffler repairs are covered by our Nice Difference® Warranty: 3 years or 36,000 miles, honored at any Christian Brothers Automotive location nationwide. We review the specific coverage that applies to your repair when we present your estimate, so you know exactly what’s included before you approve the work.
