Frequently Asked Questions
How do I know if I really need a new transmission?
The best way to know is through a thorough inspection and diagnosis. We evaluate symptoms, fluid condition, and test results before recommending transmission replacement. Our team explains what we find, shows you what we can, and reviews other options if a repair or service is still reasonable.
What will happen when I bring my car in for transmission problems?
When you arrive, we listen to your concerns and document the symptoms you have noticed. Our technicians then inspect the vehicle and perform appropriate tests. Once we understand the issue, we review our findings, provide an estimate, and answer your questions before you decide how to move forward.
How long do transmission repairs usually take?
Timeframes depend on what your vehicle needs and parts availability. Some services can be completed the same day, while more involved repairs or replacements typically take longer. We discuss expected timing with you up front and offer a complimentary shuttle service to help you manage your day.
Do you work on my type of transmission?
Our ASE-certified technicians work on many types of automatic and manual transmissions in passenger vehicles and light trucks. When you call or visit, we can confirm details about your specific vehicle. If your transmission is a good fit for our services, we will explain what we can do for you.
What kind of warranty do you offer on transmission work?
We offer an industry-leading warranty on eligible transmission repairs and replacements. During your visit, we explain what that warranty covers and how long it applies. Our goal is to give you added confidence in the work we perform and support you well after you leave our shop.

FAQs
-
Q. "What factors determine the price of transmission repair?"Many different factors go into determining costs of transmission repair. The major factor is what type of vehicle you drive. The year, make and model of the car, determine how much parts and labor will cost. Another factor is how much damage the transmission has sustained. Your transmission should last a minimum of 100,000 miles by servicing your transmission on a regular basis.
-
Q. "What does automatic transmission service include?"Fluid is first drained from the pan during an automatic transmission service. A new transmission filter is installed with a new pan gasket once the pan has been removed. Finally, fresh automatic transmission fluid (ATF) is used to refill the vehicle.
-
Q. "Is there a difference between a transmission fluid change and flush?"During a transmission fluid and filter change, it’s only the fluid in the pan that is drained and replaced with new ATF. Four to five quarts of fluid will typically be replaced in this process, while nine to thirteen quarts are replaced during a full transmission fluid flush. The difference in amounts is because the complete flush drains the entire system.
