St. Peters Certified Mechanics

St. Peters Certified Mechanics

| By: Christian Brothers Automotive

What is ASE?

ASE stands for the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence. This nonprofit organization tests and certifies individual automotive technicians, not the places where they work.

How do mechanics obtain ASE certification?

From working on school buses to collision repair, there are over 40 distinct ASE certification tests. Mechanics must pass at least one of these tests and complete two years of relevant on-the-job experience to be certified by the ASE. ASE requires that everyone retakes their tests every five years to stay current with industry trends.

What are the tests like?

The test are written by a group of manufacturers, educators, technicians, and executives in the automotive industry. Tests are made up of multiple choice questions and are typically completed in under two hours. Two-thirds of the people who take ASE certifications will pass on the first try.

Why is ASE certification important to you?

The experience and knowledge that ASE-Certified professionals have can give you confidence in the quality of service and repairs provided to you. It’s something that you can always watch for when it is time to have your car repaired.
