4. Review and Approval
A service advisor will reach out to walk you through the findings and recommendations to determine how you would like to proceed, or you can approve work directly in your DVI.
5. Work Performed or Scheduled

What the Alternator & Starter Each Actually Do
These two parts serve separate functions within the same system. The alternator is typically mounted near the front of the engine on two brackets, one fixed and one adjustable to allow drive-belt tightening. Not every alternator or starter problem requires a full replacement. The right fix depends on which specific component has failed within the unit.
Alternator wear often involves worn bearings, a failing voltage regulator (the part that controls the alternator’s electrical output), or a worn serpentine belt.
