Frequently Asked Questions
How often should shocks or struts be replaced in Colorado Springs, CO?
Most manufacturers recommend replacement every 50,000 to 100,000 miles. However, driving on rough roads or in the harsh winter conditions common in Colorado Springs can shorten that interval significantly. We recommend an annual inspection.
What’s the difference between shocks and struts?
Shocks are individual components that dampen suspension movement. Struts are a major structural part of the suspension and steering system that also includes a shock absorber. Our technicians can show you which system your vehicle uses.
How long does suspension repair typically take?
Many common repairs, like replacing a set of shocks or struts, can be completed the same day. We will always provide you with an accurate and transparent timeline after our initial diagnosis.
Can I drive safely with a failing strut or shock?
Driving with worn or damaged suspension is unsafe. It can reduce your vehicle’s stability, increase braking distances, and cause a loss of control, especially on mountainous or icy roads. We recommend prompt repair for your safety.
