What to Expect During Your Mercedes Service Visit
Every visit at Christian Brothers Automotive Chanhassen follows a clear, consistent process so you always know what’s happening with your vehicle and why. Here’s how it works.
1. Schedule Your Appointment
Whether scheduling online or over the phone be sure and let us know what you're experiencing so we can provide fast and accurate service advice.
2. Diagnostics and Inspections
Drop off your vehicle and the shop will get to work with inspections and diagnostics using the same equipment as the manufacturers to determine issues and next steps.
3. Digital Vehicle Inspection Report and Estimate
Following the diagnosis we will text you a digital vehicle inspection report, containing pictures and videos of our findings and recommendations.
4. Review and Approval
A service advisor will reach out to walk you through the findings and recommendations to determine how you would like to proceed, or you can approve work directly in your DVI.
5. Work Performed or Scheduled
Most work can be completed immediately, or scheduled based on parts and customer availability.
Warranty Coverage for Your Mercedes-Benz
All work performed at Christian Brothers Automotive Chanhassen is covered by our Nice Difference Warranty (3-year/36,000-mile). That coverage travels with you: the warranty is honored at any Christian Brothers Automotive location nationwide, regardless of which branch completed the original service.
We work with all major extended warranty providers. When you schedule your appointment, let us know your carrier and we can confirm coverage before your visit. If you prefer to supply your own parts, we’re happy to accommodate that, though the warranty doesn’t apply to customer-supplied parts.
Mercedes-Benz Maintenance Schedules & Service Intervals
Mercedes-Benz service intervals follow a structured schedule designed to protect performance and longevity. Knowing what each interval covers helps you stay ahead of issues before they develop.
Mercedes-Benz Service A and Service B intervals:
- Service A is generally due at 10,000 miles or one year, whichever comes first. It typically includes an oil and filter change, fluid checks, tire pressure correction, and a brake component inspection.
- Service B is generally due at 20,000 miles or two years. It includes everything in Service A plus a cabin air filter replacement and a brake fluid exchange.
Many Mercedes-Benz models use a Flexible Service System, known as ASSYST or ASSYST Plus, that monitors driving conditions, mileage, and time to signal when service is due. Rather than relying on a fixed calendar, ASSYST adapts to how and where you drive. When the system triggers an alert, that’s your cue to schedule service.
Beyond scheduled intervals, pay attention to changes in ride quality or handling and any warning light connected to an electronic or safety system. These are signs your Mercedes may need attention sooner rather than later.
Mercedes owners in Chanhassen, Chaska, and Eden Prairie can schedule service by calling (952) 592-8266 or using our online contact form. A complimentary shuttle is available so your day doesn’t stop while we take care of your vehicle.
Electronic Systems & Diagnostic Software
Modern Mercedes-Benz vehicles rely on complex electronic systems that support safety features and driver-assistance technology. When a check engine light or system warning appears, accurate diagnosis depends on equipment capable of reading manufacturer-specific fault codes. Generic scan tools don’t always communicate fully with these systems, which is why diagnostic software built to interface with Mercedes-Benz architecture matters for reaching an accurate diagnosis.
Suspension & Steering Components
The smooth, controlled ride Mercedes-Benz vehicles are known for depends on suspension and steering components maintaining their designed tolerances. Wear in these parts tends to develop gradually, showing up as subtle changes in handling, increased road noise, or a slight pull in one direction. Catching it early can mean a simpler repair and a vehicle that continues to perform as it should.
