Comprehensive Transmission Services
Our transmission shop in Grapevine covers the full range of services your drivetrain may need, from routine maintenance to complete unit replacement. Every service uses manufacturer-quality equipment, and we communicate what we find at each step in plain language.
- Transmission Flushes: A flush removes old, degraded fluid before it causes wear on internal components. This goes beyond a simple drain-and-fill, clearing out contaminants that contribute to slipping and overheating.
- Transmission Repairs: Repair scope depends on diagnosis and can include solenoid replacement, seal and gasket work, torque converter service, and valve body repair, as well as addressing fluid leaks. Our technicians assess the full picture before recommending any repair path.
- Transmission Replacements: When repair isn’t cost-effective, we install new or rebuilt units to support reliable performance. We’ll walk you through the options with a clear estimate so you can make an informed decision.
Our free Digital Vehicle Inspection (DVI) documents findings with actual photos so you can see the basis for every recommendation, not just hear it described.

Frequently Asked Questions
How Often Should I Service My Transmission?
Most vehicles benefit from a transmission service every 30,000 to 60,000 miles, but that range shifts based on more than just make and model. Frequent towing, extended stop-and-go driving, and high overall mileage can all accelerate wear and may warrant a shorter interval. Your owner’s manual is the authoritative starting point, and our technicians can factor in your actual driving habits when making a recommendation.
What Are Signs My Transmission Needs Repair?
Common indicators include slipping gears, delayed or harsh shifting, unusual whining or grinding noises, fluid leaking under the vehicle, and an illuminated transmission warning light. If you’re noticing any of these, schedule a diagnostic promptly. Issues caught early are generally less involved to address than those that surface after further damage has occurred.
Is It Better to Repair or Replace a Transmission?
That decision depends on the severity of the damage, the vehicle’s age and mileage, and whether the repair cost makes sense relative to the vehicle’s value. Our technicians perform a thorough inspection and document findings through our Digital Vehicle Inspection so you can see exactly what’s been found. We then present your options with a clear estimate and can walk you through the trade-offs without pressure.
Why Does Transmission Maintenance Matter?
Regular maintenance supports fuel efficiency, reduces the likelihood of unexpected failure, and is designed to extend transmission life. Degraded fluid accelerates wear on internal components, and staying current on service intervals is one of the more cost-effective ways to protect a system that’s expensive to repair when it fails.
How Do I Know If My Transmission Fluid Needs Changing?
Healthy transmission fluid is typically bright or translucent red with a slightly sweet odor. Fluid that has turned dark or cloudy, or that carries a burning smell, indicates degradation and should be evaluated without delay. If you’re unsure about your fluid condition, bring the vehicle in and we’ll assess it as part of a courtesy inspection.

FAQs
-
Q. "What factors determine the price of transmission repair?"Many different factors go into determining costs of transmission repair. The major factor is what type of vehicle you drive. The year, make and model of the car, determine how much parts and labor will cost. Another factor is how much damage the transmission has sustained. Your transmission should last a minimum of 100,000 miles by servicing your transmission on a regular basis.
-
Q. "What does automatic transmission service include?"Fluid is first drained from the pan during an automatic transmission service. A new transmission filter is installed with a new pan gasket once the pan has been removed. Finally, fresh automatic transmission fluid (ATF) is used to refill the vehicle.
-
Q. "Is there a difference between a transmission fluid change and flush?"During a transmission fluid and filter change, it’s only the fluid in the pan that is drained and replaced with new ATF. Four to five quarts of fluid will typically be replaced in this process, while nine to thirteen quarts are replaced during a full transmission fluid flush. The difference in amounts is because the complete flush drains the entire system.
