Our Shawnee Auto Repair Shop Teaches Girl Scouts To Care For Their Cars
Christian Brothers Automotive Shawnee supports Kansas Girl Scouts
Our Shawnee auto repair shop hosted over 50 Girl Scouts and their dads at a “Me/He Car Care Clinic”. Our friendly staff set up 5 stations for the girls to rotate through. When the girls checked in at the front counter, they received a clipboard, car care checklist, a pen and a goodie bag filled with items from local businesses.
Our professional technicians conducted two sessions – one at 9am and the other at 10am. The first session was for Kindergarten through 3rd grade. The second session was for 4th grade and up.
During the first session, seven girls and their dads where assigned to each station. Each of our knowledgeable staff members was assigned a station. Our staff spoke for 6 minutes about their topic, then the girls rotated to the next station.
At each station, we shared information regarding warning lights, the safety aspects of headlights and brake lights, the importance of fluids and hoses, and other car maintenance necessities.
The Girl Scouts were shown how to check their tires’ pressure and tread depth. Thanks to our wonderful sponsor, Advance Auto, each girl was able to keep her tire pressure gauge and tire tread depth gauge.
On their Girl Scout checklist, the girls wrote down when checked fluids were dirty, when brake lights didn’t work, and other warning signs. Each girl loved being trained as if she were a ‘real’ technician.
Our Shawnee auto repair shop gives back
Between now and February 28th, each participant who returns will have 3% of their car service cost donated back to their daughter’s Girl Scout Troop.
“We love any opportunity to support our Shawnee customers, and it was a delight to see our lobby, bays, and staff filled with so much joy. All glory to Jesus!”
