Frequently Asked Questions
How do I know if I need a new transmission?
You may need a replacement if there is severe internal damage, very contaminated fluid, or repeated failures after prior repairs. During our inspection, we look at symptoms, mileage, and overall vehicle condition, then explain whether service, repair, or replacement is the most practical option.
Can you check my transmission before doing any work?
Yes, our team always inspects and diagnoses before recommending repairs. We start with questions about your concerns, then perform road testing, visual checks, and fluid and computer checks as needed. We review what we find with you and only begin work after you approve a plan.
What warranty do you offer on transmission repairs?
We offer an industry-leading warranty on qualifying transmission repairs and replacements. The specific coverage depends on the type of work and parts used, and we explain those details before you approve any repair. Our goal is to give you clear expectations and peace of mind.
How long will my car be in the shop for transmission work?
The time required depends on whether your vehicle needs maintenance, a focused repair, or a full replacement. Simple services may be completed the same day, while larger jobs typically take longer. We discuss timing up front and offer a complimentary shuttle to help you manage your day.
Will you explain my options in plain language?
Yes, explaining things clearly is central to how we serve our guests. We walk through what we find, what your options are, and how each choice may affect cost and long-term reliability. We avoid confusing terms and invite questions until you feel comfortable deciding.

FAQs
-
Q. "What factors determine the price of transmission repair?"Many different factors go into determining costs of transmission repair. The major factor is what type of vehicle you drive. The year, make and model of the car, determine how much parts and labor will cost. Another factor is how much damage the transmission has sustained. Your transmission should last a minimum of 100,000 miles by servicing your transmission on a regular basis.
-
Q. "What does automatic transmission service include?"Fluid is first drained from the pan during an automatic transmission service. A new transmission filter is installed with a new pan gasket once the pan has been removed. Finally, fresh automatic transmission fluid (ATF) is used to refill the vehicle.
-
Q. "Is there a difference between a transmission fluid change and flush?"During a transmission fluid and filter change, it’s only the fluid in the pan that is drained and replaced with new ATF. Four to five quarts of fluid will typically be replaced in this process, while nine to thirteen quarts are replaced during a full transmission fluid flush. The difference in amounts is because the complete flush drains the entire system.
