Frequently Asked Questions
How long does a car diagnostic test usually take?
Most diagnostic appointments take between one and two hours, depending on the complexity of the issue. Some concerns can be identified more quickly, while intermittent or advanced problems may require additional testing. We discuss expected timing at check-in and keep you updated if more time is needed.
Will you explain the diagnostic results in plain language?
Yes, clear explanations are a core part of what we do. Our team reviews the findings with you in everyday terms, not technical jargon, and connects each item to what you experience behind the wheel. You have time to ask questions and understand options before deciding on any repair work.
Do I have to approve repairs right after the diagnostic?
No, you are not required to approve repairs immediately. After the diagnostic check, we present our recommendations and estimates, then give you space to think through your choices. We can also help you prioritize items by safety and urgency so you can plan according to your budget.
Can I wait at your shop during my diagnostic check?
Yes, many customers choose to wait in our comfortable lobby during diagnostics. If waiting does not work for your schedule, we also offer a complimentary shuttle service to nearby destinations. Our goal is to keep your day moving smoothly while we take care of your vehicle.
What if the diagnostic finds several issues with my car?
If testing reveals more than one concern, we walk through each item with you and explain how it affects safety and performance. Together, we can prioritize repairs and create a plan that makes sense for your situation. You stay in control of what work is done and when.
When you are ready for clear answers about your vehicle, our team at Christian Brothers Automotive Robinhood is here to help. A careful car diagnostic check can give you the information you need to protect your safety, plan your budget, and drive with confidence again.

Q. "What does a vehicle test do?"
Today’s vehicles are more advanced than ever. They’re essentially computers on wheels, with complex systems controlling everything from performance and safety to comfort and efficiency. When a warning light comes on or something feels off, our testing process takes a deep dive into these systems to identify the real issue, not just a surface-level code. This thorough approach goes far beyond a quick parts-store scan and helps ensure repairs are accurate, effective, and long-lasting.
