How to Know If Your Car Needs New Brakes
Recognizing the signs of brake problems early can save you from costly repairs and ensure your safety on the road. Here are some common indicators that you may need new brakes:
- Squeaking: High-pitched noises when you use your brakes can indicate worn brake pads.
- Grinding Sounds: A grinding noise often means that the brake pads are completely worn out, and the metal components are rubbing against each other.
- Vibration or Pulsation: If you feel a vibration or pulsation in the brake pedal, it could be a sign of warped brake rotors.
- Longer Stopping Distances: If your vehicle takes longer to stop than usual, it may be time to replace your brakes.
- Brake Warning Light: If the brake warning light on your dashboard is illuminated, it's essential to have your brakes inspected immediately.
