At Christian Brothers Automotive Cedar Rapids, we believe auto repair should be built on trust. Locally owned by Lance and Gina Shaver, our shop at 3740 Westdale Pkwy SW reflects our family’s commitment to faith, family, and serving others.

Lance holds an engineering degree and brings over 35 years of experience in manufacturing leadership across automotive parts, building materials, and steel fabrication—experience grounded in quality standards, accountability, and doing things the right way. Gina holds a degree in Early Childhood Education and taught kindergarten through eighth grade until their son, Austin, was born. She later continued to serve as a substitute teacher for several years. Her heart for children, families, and the community continues to shape the welcoming culture of our business.

Our family is actively involved in this mission. Austin brings manufacturing experience and works alongside Lance, as does our son-in-law, Matt Denz, who has a background in law enforcement and a strong commitment to service and integrity. Our daughter, Morgan, continues her career as a veterinarian at Heartland Animal Clinic in Marion, faithfully serving families and their pets in our community.

We chose Christian Brothers Automotive because its mission aligns with our belief that business should honor God and serve people with integrity. Philippians 4:13—“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me”—reminds us that leadership is stewardship, and service is a calling.

Austin Shaver
Service Manager
Austin spent 10 years in manufacturing management. He is a central college graduate where he played football for the Dutch.

He is engaged to be married to Courtney. They enjoy spending time with their two dogs and watching Titans and University of Tennessee football.
Matt Denz
Service Advisor
Matt is from Colorado Springs, Colorado. He is CDL Certified and has experience as a truck driver and loves automotive industry. He was a police officer for Hall county in Georgia where he and his wife Morgan lived before moving to Iowa.

He is a family man. Married to Morgan Denz who is a veterinarian in Marion and works for Heartland Animal Clinic. Morgan and Matt have one son, Turner Matthew Denz who is one year old.

Matt loves to spend time with his family and gaming on his computer is one of his favorite hobbies.
Kevin Clark
ASE Master L1 Certified Technician
Kevin spent 6 years in the marine corps. He started his training as a mechanic there in small wheel and electrical services. He had many certifications and is a very skilled technician.

Kevin is a family man and he and his wife Melissa have 2 children. Izzy who is 8 and Wyatt who is 4. They love all their kids sporting activities. Spend time as a family on the lake and they love nature. Kevin is a blessing to us!!
Lane Wiseman
Apprentice Technician
Lane has studied automotive at Kirkwood. He is starting out his career at CBA and loves learning a new skill as often as he can. He is a hard worker and loves cars! He is working towards his first ASE certification, with a long-term goal of earning his ASE L1 Master Technician certification within 5 years.

Lane is very close to his family and one of his favorite hobbies is fishing.
Sean Ely
General Services Technician
Sean has trained in Kirkwood automotive classes. He loves on the job training. He working towards becoming an Apprentice Technician and obtaining his ASE certifications.

He is a family man. Is engaged and has a 5 year old daughter, Evelyn.

Sean’s hobbies include working on cars of course. He also loves bowling, fishing and kayaking.
John John Antons
ASE Certified Technician
He has many automotive skills and loves his job. He is a self taught technician who has also taken training classes to help him with his skill. He currently hold 2 ASE certification and working towards his ASE L1 Master Technician certification

John loves spending his free time riding his motorcycle and spending time with his family.
Craig Wyckoff
Senior Service Advisor
Craig has many years of experience with automotive repair. Some examples he has been a Service Manager, Service Writer, Tire Tech, etc.

He loves spending time with his family. He has one son and one daughter.
