Thorough Diagnostic Testing
Our technicians connect to your vehicle’s onboard computer system and retrieve the diagnostic trouble codes stored there. From that point, the work goes deeper, interpreting what those codes mean for your specific vehicle rather than stopping at the surface reading.

You receive a clear breakdown of parts and labor costs along with an explanation of which repairs are most urgent. Nothing moves forward without your approval.

2. Diagnostics and Inspections
Drop off your vehicle and the shop will get to work with inspections and diagnostics using the same equipment as the manufacturers to determine issues and next steps.
3. Digital Vehicle Inspection Report and Estimate
Following the diagnosis we will text you a digital vehicle inspection report, containing pictures and videos of our findings and recommendations.
4. Review and Approval
A service advisor will reach out to walk you through the findings and recommendations to determine how you would like to proceed, or you can approve work directly in your DVI.
5. Work Performed or Scheduled
Most work can be completed immediately, or scheduled based on parts and customer availability.

Common Reasons Your Check Engine Light Is On
The warning can point to a handful of straightforward problems or something that needs prompt attention. Here’s what our technicians see most often.
- Loose or faulty gas cap: One of the most frequent triggers. A cap that isn’t sealing properly allows fuel vapors to escape and trips the light.
- Oxygen sensor failure: A failing oxygen sensor reduces fuel efficiency and increases emissions over time.
- Catalytic converter issues: When the catalytic converter isn’t functioning properly, fuel economy drops and performance suffers.

The malfunction indicator lamp, the orange or yellow engine-shaped icon on your dashboard, doesn’t communicate in sentences, but the way it behaves carries meaning.
A steady light generally points to a less urgent issue, something worth addressing soon but not a reason to pull over immediately. A loose gas cap or a marginal oxygen sensor reading often falls into this category.
A flashing check engine light is a different situation. It typically signals a severe problem such as an active engine misfire, which can damage the catalytic converter within a short drive. If the light is flashing, pull over when it’s safe to do so and turn off the engine.
In either case, our technicians use a scan tool connected to your vehicle’s OBD-II diagnostic system to retrieve the stored diagnostic trouble codes. Those codes are the starting point. The real diagnostic work involves interpreting what they mean for your specific engine, model year, and driving history.
