Frequently Asked Questions
What is the main function of the radiator inside my car?
The radiator acts as a giant heat exchanger for your vehicle. As hot fluid travels away from your roaring engine block, it pumps directly through the thin metal fins of the radiator. Air passing through your grille cools this fluid down safely before it loops back to protect your engine from internal damage.
Why does my car need a regular coolant flush service?
Over time, the protective anti-corrosion additives mixed into your fluid naturally break down and lose their effectiveness. This allows tiny bits of rust, scale, and debris to form inside your lines. A thorough flush completely clears out this dangerous grit so your fresh fluid can transfer heat efficiently without clogging.
Can driving with minor coolant leaks cause serious engine trouble?
Yes, absolutely. Even a tiny pinhole leak in a hose or fitting can cause your system to lose its necessary internal pressure. This drops your fluid levels dangerously low, which quickly triggers engine overheating, warped internal components, blown head gaskets, and incredibly expensive mechanical repair bills.
How often should I have my engine cooling system inspected?
We highly recommend having your system checked at least once a year, preferably before the intense summer heat sets in. Having our team run a quick pressure test allows us to catch soft hoses, weak caps, or small hairline radiator cracks long before they turn into major roadside emergencies.
What should I do immediately if my temperature warning light turns on?
If your vehicle begins overheating, safely pull over to the side of the road as quickly as possible and turn the engine off. Never attempt to open the hot reservoir cap yourself, as the pressurized fluid can cause severe burns. Call for professional assistance right away to prevent catastrophic damage.
