How the Service Works
Scheduling is easy: book online or call (337) 386-1770. When you arrive, we run a full inspection, send your Digital Vehicle Inspection (DVI) report to your phone, and get your approval before we start. Most headlight and taillight replacements wrap up the same visit. More involved installations, such as LED or Xenon/HID systems, may require additional time for alignment and testing, and we’ll let you know upfront.
1. Schedule Your Appointment
Whether scheduling online or over the phone be sure and let us know what you're experiencing so we can provide fast and accurate service advice.
2. Diagnostics and Inspections
Drop off your vehicle and the shop will get to work with inspections and diagnostics using the same equipment as the manufacturers to determine issues and next steps.
3. Digital Vehicle Inspection Report and Estimate
Following the diagnosis we will text you a digital vehicle inspection report, containing pictures and videos of our findings and recommendations.
4. Review and Approval
A service advisor will reach out to walk you through the findings and recommendations to determine how you would like to proceed, or you can approve work directly in your DVI.
5. Work Performed or Scheduled
Most work can be completed immediately, or scheduled based on parts and customer availability.
Lights On When It Rains
Louisiana law requires lighted lamps whenever moisture conditions demand continuous wiper use, a rule Lafayette drivers encounter regularly. Functioning headlights and taillights give other drivers and pedestrians the time they need to respond. If yours are dim, flickering, or out, don’t wait to have them checked.
Halogen, LED & Xenon/HID Head Light Replacement in Lafayette
Not all headlight systems are the same, and neither are the replacement procedures. Our technicians are trained to install and align all three major types.
- Halogen: The most common factory-installed type. Straightforward to replace and widely compatible across vehicle makes.
- LED: Greater brightness and longer service life with lower power draw than Halogen. Requires compatibility checks during installation.
- Xenon/HID: Intense illumination suited to low-light driving conditions. Precise alignment is essential to avoid blinding oncoming traffic.
Lafayette’s humid climate accelerates lens oxidation on all headlight types, gradually reducing brightness even when the bulb is still working. If your lights look dim but the bulb tests fine, the housing may be the issue. We check both.

Louisiana Vehicle Lighting Requirements
Louisiana law sets clear standards for vehicle lighting. RS 32:303 requires every motor vehicle to have at least two functioning headlamps, one on each side, emitting white light only. Colored headlamp lights are prohibited on public roads. RS 32:304 requires at least two tail lamps on vehicles manufactured or assembled after December 31, 1962 (other than motorcycles and motor-driven cycles), each emitting red light visible from 1,000 feet to the rear.
RS 32:301 requires lighted lamps whenever visibility is insufficient to see persons or vehicles 500 feet ahead, or whenever moisture requires continuous wiper use. A non-functioning headlamp or taillight isn’t just a safety issue. It can also lead to a citation.
Signs Your Lights Need Attention
Complete failure isn’t the only reason to come in. These early warning signs are worth acting on now:
- Flickering or dimming: Can indicate a failing bulb or an issue in the electrical circuit
- Yellowed or hazy lenses: Reduce effective light output even when the bulb is still working
- Moisture inside the housing: Signals a failed seal that warrants inspection before water damage spreads
- Dashboard warning light: Modern vehicles often alert you to a burned-out exterior bulb directly on the instrument panel
- Uneven beam brightness: One side noticeably dimmer than the other suggests mismatched bulb age or a circuit issue
Replacing bulbs in matched pairs helps maintain even brightness and color across both sides of the vehicle, which is part of why we inspect the full system rather than just the side that failed.
