How a Coolant Flush Works
The cooling system’s job is to pull heat away from the engine and keep it running at a safe operating temperature. Coolant is typically a mixture of ethylene or propylene glycol with de-mineralized water, and it circulates through the engine, radiator, and connected hoses to do that work.
Over time, antifreeze degrades. Contaminants build up, and the fluid loses its ability to protect against rust and scale. A coolant flush pushes fresh antifreeze through the entire system to clear out the old fluid completely. We evacuate all of it before adding new coolant so degraded fluid doesn’t contaminate the fresh fill. Conditioners are added with the new antifreeze to extend its life and protect metal components.
