What to Expect During BMW Service
Initial Vehicle Assessment
When your vehicle arrives, we begin by assessing the reported issue. We consider the symptoms you’ve noticed and inspect for related mechanical or electrical concerns.
Digital Inspection & Recommendations
We send the complimentary Digital Vehicle Inspection and photos to your smartphone or review them with you by phone. You can see what we found, ask questions, and approve or deny each recommendation.
Completed Work & Warranty Coverage
We complete approved repairs using manufacturer-quality equipment. The Nice Difference Warranty covers our work with a 3-year/36,000-mile limited warranty on parts and labor. We also work with all major extended warranty providers.
1. Schedule Your Appointment
Whether scheduling online or over the phone be sure and let us know what you're experiencing so we can provide fast and accurate service advice.
2. Diagnostics and Inspections
Drop off your vehicle and the shop will get to work with inspections and diagnostics using the same equipment as the manufacturers to determine issues and next steps.
3. Digital Vehicle Inspection Report and Estimate
Following the diagnosis we will text you a digital vehicle inspection report, containing pictures and videos of our findings and recommendations.
4. Review and Approval
A service advisor will reach out to walk you through the findings and recommendations to determine how you would like to proceed, or you can approve work directly in your DVI.
5. Work Performed or Scheduled
Most work can be completed immediately, or scheduled based on parts and customer availability.
Warranty Coverage & Convenient Transportation
You don’t have to put your day on hold while your vehicle is in the shop. Our complimentary shuttle can take you to a destination within five miles, or you can wait in our comfortable lounge with free Wi-Fi and refreshments.
The Nice Difference Warranty covers parts and labor for 3 years or 36,000 miles, whichever comes first. Christian Brothers Automotive Wheat Ridge locations nationwide honor the warranty.
BMW Maintenance Intervals & Warning Signs
Following the recommended maintenance schedule and responding to dashboard alerts can preserve performance and reliability. Service timing depends on the vehicle, its onboard alerts, mileage, condition, and driving environment.
Check Engine Light Diagnostics
A check engine light can point to something as simple as a loose gas cap or a more significant issue, such as a failing catalytic converter. During check engine light diagnostics, we use diagnostic equipment to read stored fault codes. We then investigate the cause rather than treating the code itself as a complete diagnosis.
Brake Wear
Brake pads are generally replaced every 20,000 to 30,000 miles, while brake shoes and rotors typically need replacement around 50,000 miles. Actual wear varies with driving habits and conditions. Squealing, vibration, or changes in braking response are reasons to arrange an inspection.
Transmission Service
Transmission fluid service can extend the system’s lifespan. Delayed engagement, slipping, unusual shifting, or a visible fluid leak should be assessed before deciding whether the vehicle needs fluid service, repair, or replacement.
BMW Systems That Require Informed Diagnostics
Interconnected mechanical, electronic, and computer-controlled systems can make accurate testing especially important. A warning or performance change in one area doesn’t always identify the underlying component.
xDrive All-Wheel Drive
On xDrive-equipped vehicles, the all-wheel-drive system coordinates power delivery across multiple components. Drivetrain symptoms and system warnings require diagnostics that account for how those components interact.
Electrical Architecture
The electrical architecture can connect sensors, control modules, comfort features, and engine management functions. Electrical system troubleshooting may require fault-code analysis and targeted testing instead of replacing the first component associated with a warning.
Cooling Systems
Cooling system service can involve more than checking the coolant level. Temperature warnings, leaks, or inconsistent cabin heat should be evaluated in the context of the complete system and the vehicle’s operating conditions.
