Car Care Clinics!
We have hosted six car care clinics over the past 18 months, and what a great time we’ve had with our community! A few of the organizations that we’ve been able to educate include Southlake’s National Charity League, Weatherford ISD new drivers, and Unfaulted.
During our clinics we have three interactive stations where we educate seasoned drivers and soon-to-be drivers on maintenance and safety checks they can do at home. The first station discusses common dashboard lights and maintenance intervals for fluids and filters changes, tire rotations, and battery replacements. As a new driver, being informed and educated on your specific maintenance intervals will allow you to be on the road more and utilizing roadside assistance less!
In the second station, we show exactly how to change a tire and then look at the tread. We also discuss uneven tread depth and wearing patterns on tires and what could cause certain tread wear. We ensure you understand where the tire changing tools are in your vehicle should you ever be stranded on the side of the road.
Finally, we show you specifics under the hood of your vehicle! This includes where your filters, battery terminals/jump posts, dipsticks, and fluid reservoirs are located. We also point out the OBD II port should you ever need to plug in a code reader to your vehicle, and then we show you how to change out your wiper blades properly and how to know which adapters you need for your new blades.
We’ve had a great time hosting these clinics and are excited for our upcoming ones. If you are interested in signing up for the next one, please email Megan at [email protected]!
