Owned & Operated by People Who Are Here Every Day
Christian Brothers Automotive College Station is owned and operated by Darrel and Belinda Fikes, who are present in the shop. When owner/operators are on-site, there’s direct accountability for the workmanship and the customer experience on every visit. Your Audi isn’t handed off to a faceless service chain. It’s cared for at a shop where the owners have their name on the door.
How College Station Driving Affects Your Audi’s Maintenance Needs
Texas heat accelerates coolant degradation, promotes moisture absorption in brake fluid, and loads cabin filters faster than moderate climates. For Audi owners in College Station, following manufacturer-recommended service intervals isn’t just good practice. It’s a meaningful line of defense against preventable repairs.
Stop-and-go patterns near Texas A&M campus increase brake wear and put more demand on transmission fluid. Highway driving adds its own stresses, particularly for Audi’s quattro all-wheel-drive system and multi-link suspension, which can benefit from periodic drivetrain fluid attention and alignment checks. Models including the A3, A4, Q5, and Q7 each carry their own maintenance requirements, and our team tracks your service history to help you stay ahead of upcoming intervals rather than reacting to dashboard alerts.
Audi Warning Signs College Station Drivers Shouldn’t Ignore
A check engine light on an Audi can indicate anything from a loose gas cap to a cylinder misfire or an emissions system fault. Early diagnostic attention can help keep minor issues from becoming expensive ones. Because Audi’s platform requires OEM-level diagnostic software to read fault codes accurately, a generic code reader often won’t tell the full story.
Oil consumption is a known characteristic of some Audi turbocharged engines. Monitoring your oil level between changes and using the correct grade matters for long-term engine health. If you’re topping off more frequently than expected, it’s worth a conversation with our technicians.
Brake performance is another area worth watching. Audi’s quattro all-wheel-drive distributes braking demand across all four wheels, which can affect wear patterns and thermal behavior differently than on two-wheel-drive vehicles. Squealing, grinding, or a longer stopping distance are signs an inspection is overdue.
Other symptoms that warrant prompt attention include:
- MMI system or drivetrain warning lights: These require software matched to the Audi platform to diagnose accurately
- Coolant leaks or overheating: Audi’s aluminum engine components are particularly vulnerable to heat damage and should be addressed quickly
- Unusual engine smells: Often a sign of a fluid leak that can escalate if left unaddressed
- Suspension clunks or uneven tire wear: On all-wheel-drive models, these can indicate worn control arm bushings, tie rods, or drivetrain issues that should be evaluated before alignment work is performed
