Fuel Efficiency in An Uncertain Market

Fuel Efficiency in An Uncertain Market

| By: Christian Brothers Automotive

Now more than ever, fuel efficiency has become increasingly important. As gas prices continue to increase across the country, we want to make sure your vehicle is not using more gas than it did in the past. At Christian Brothers Automotive in Hutto we want to help with your vehicle maintenance as well as assisting in finding ways to save you money at the fuel pump.

Did you know proper maintenance and service can play a major role in your vehicle's fuel economy? A well-maintained car is a fuel-efficient car.

  1. Checking the air in your tires will ensure they are inflated to the proper specs. This can help with fuel economy. Follow your vehicle’s manufacturer’s recommended service schedule just like you would for your regularly scheduled oil changes. Our ASE Certified Technicians will gladly complete a complimentary courtesy inspection when you stop in. We’ll check your car’s service schedule and our friendly service staff will never recommend work that is unnecessary. We endeavor to partner with you to create a timeline and prioritize all your vehicle’s service and repair needs.
  2. A complete fuel system cleaning should be performed on your vehicle every 15,000 miles, or whenever the manufacturer dictates. Our auto repair specialists thoroughly check the fuel injectors and the air intake to make sure there are no obstructions and ensure the throttle body is clean. This could have a huge impact on your vehicle’s performance and fuel efficiency. Having your fuel system cleaned can even start saving you some money at the gas station!
  3. Changing your air filter and fuel filter. As we drive, dirt and particles are kicked up off the road, where they become airborne and come into contact with our vehicle. When dirt and debris get into the system, they dirty the fuel, clog the injectors and even clog the air intake. This is how cars become less fuel efficient over time. So, be sure to get those filters routinely checked and replaced!
