Frequently driving your car with little fuel can harm your engine over time because the gasoline at the bottom of your tank is usually the dirtiest. When this part is used for fuel, you run a higher risk of dirt reaching your fuel line and engine.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is engine replacement better than buying a new car?
In many cases, replacing the engine is significantly more cost-effective than taking on a new car payment and higher insurance rates. If the rest of your vehicle’s body, transmission, and suspension are in good condition, a fresh engine can provide several more years of reliable service. We help you weigh these factors to make a smart financial decision.
How long does a typical car engine repair take?
Minor repairs like sensor replacements or a tune-up can often be completed in a single day. Major services, such as a head gasket replacement or a timing belt swap, may require several days to ensure every seal is perfect. We always keep you informed of our progress and provide timelines so you can plan your schedule accordingly.
What causes a timing belt to fail prematurely?
Heat, oil leaks, and excessive tension are the primary drivers of belt failure, but often it is simply a matter of age and mileage. Because timing belts are made of rubber compounds, they naturally degrade over time, which is why following the manufacturer’s replacement interval is so critical. Replacing it early is a small price to pay to avoid total engine destruction.
Why is my engine overheating even after adding coolant?
Persistent overheating usually points to a failure in the water pump, a clogged radiator, or a compromised head gasket. If the cooling system cannot maintain pressure or if coolant is leaking internally, simply adding more fluid will not solve the underlying problem. Our engine diagnostics can pressure-test the system to find the exact leak or blockage.
What is included in a professional engine tune-up?
A modern tune-up typically involves inspecting and replacing spark plugs, checking the ignition system, and evaluating all filters and fluids. The goal is to restore the engine to its optimal operating state, which improves fuel economy and reduces harmful emissions. This preventive maintenance is the best way to catch minor engine issues before they lead to expensive repairs.
