Auto AC repair

It seems far off, but summer is just around the corner. You’ll be blasting the air conditioning in a few short months. Did the summer of 2012 end with you needing an auto AC repair? Our outstanding Christian Brothers Automotive service technicians will keep your air conditioner running in tip-top shape. To help you look for the signs here are a few different auto AC facts that you may not know about:

1) If your car has odd smells coming from inside the AC unit, it could be a bacterial buildup inside your car. Over time, bacteria can form on the evaporator causing a bad odor. This is commonly the case in older cars. If the odor gets strong enough, it can cause headaches and even flu-like symptoms.

2) When your AC doesn’t blow out cold air like it used to, it needs to be serviced. If you have not used your AC frequently, it can cause the system to dry up. So, when you use it again later a crack, and resulting leak, is likely to form. Luckily, you can bring your car to us and we are able to run a leak check to help prevent this problem.

3) Running your AC year round will keep it in great shape. By running the air conditioner in your car during the winter months, you ensure that the hoses are kept well lubricated and you help prevent them from cracking and leaking the next time you use it.

4) The pool of water that forms under your car after you run the air conditioner is completely normal. Your AC is designed to drip the condensation away from the car.

Weather is generally unpredictable. However, it’s never too early to get your auto AC repaired by our trained technicians at Christian Brothers Automotive.
