With Christian Brothers, you will work with ASE-Certified mechanics for all your automotive services and repairs. What is ASE and why should you learn about it? Let’s dig deeper into this subject in today’s blog post.
What is ASE?
ASE stands for the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence. This organization tests and certifies individual automotive technicians.
How do technicians receive ASE certification?
ASE offers over 40 unique certification tests that cover everything from damage analysis to exhaust systems. Applicants must pass at least one of these tests and finish two years of relevant on-the-job experience to be certified by the ASE. Anyone who completes more than one test will be given Master status. ASE requires that all certified technicians retake their tests every five years to stay current with new developments.
What are the tests like?
To ensure quality and relevance, ASE uses a panel of manufacturers, educators, technicians, and executives in the automotive industry to create the exams. Most people take about two hours to complete an exam. Two-thirds of the people who take one of these tests pass on their first try.
What does ASE certification mean to you?
The combination of experience and knowledge that ASE-Certified professionals have can give you confidence in the quality of repairs and service provided to you. It’s something that you can always watch for when it is time to have your car repaired.
